Lion Dance Crew

Lion Dance Crew is a subsidiary team of the SJSU Vietnamese Student Association. We welcome all people who would like to learn about lion dance and performance! Currently, our team is comprised of several experienced members as well as rookies! Lion dance in itself is a performative art that includes the Lion, a head and a tail, and the musicians, the cymbals and the drums. The Lion is a physically demanding role that bases itself on acting as a powerful beast to ward off evil spirits, while the drums and cymbals represent the heartbeat and soul of the Lion throughout the dance. Again, we welcome all people to lion dance!
